One of our favorite things to do on a free weekend is to head outside through our backyard and into the woods for a hike. There are lots of hilly walking trails in the woods behind and around our house. You can actually walk until you reach the county rec dept ball fields, playgrounds and BMX tracks (I wanna try that one day!). We also have access to our city's new Oak Mountain nature park with paved walking trails and lake. It's so nice to be able to get there without having to get into the car.
We decided on this day to take a picnic lunch with us. The boys are big fans of Survivorman, so they like to pretend they are him. They've tried to talk us into actually camping out in the woods, but we aren't quite ready for that yet. Especially since the last time we hiked, Andrew attempted to pick up a stick and quickly discovered that it was actually a snake! bleh.

ETA: I was asked what Andrew was doing in the clip of them waving when he is nodding his head. Jacob was singing "They're taking the hobbits to Isengard" while Andrew was repeating "the hobbits, the hobbits, the hobbits, the hobbits".
